BAYFIELD REGIONAL CONSERVANCY: Strategic Conservation Management Plan - Sawyer & S Ashlnd Counties

Purpose

The Bayfield Regional Conservancy is sponsoring a project to produce a strategic conservation management plan for Sawyer and southern Ashland Counties. The plan will be used by BRC and partners to guide their pro-active land protection and conservation programs. Specific project tasks are listed in item D. of the Surface Water Grant Application. DNR grant funding is complementing funding from the Land Trust Alliance to produce a finalized Strategic Conservation Management Plan. Final deliverables include: 1) Copies of color GIS maps of each Landscape Conservation Area (LCA), with digitized parcel maps to illustrate the high priority areas worked in; 2) A narrative description of each LCA and its conservation targets; 3) List of threats (stresses) for each LCA; 4) List of conservation opportunities and activities/strategies for each LCA; 5) A map depicting locations of \201Cprime targets for conservation\201D; 6) An executive summary of the plan; 7) A finalized plan. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Biologist.
