The Kentuck Lake Comprehensive Management Plan was a baseline assessment of Kentuck Lake and this advanced assessment builds upon its findings. The primary goal of the study and monitoring is to determine where excess phosphorus in Kentuck Lake was originating and if any management strategies could be implemented to reduce frequency and/or lessen the severity of cyanobacterial blooms.

Kentuck Lake P&R District is sponsoring a lake protection grant to further assess water quality and manage AIS in Kentuck Lake, in Vilas County. Project activities include: 1) In-lake water quality assessment; 2) Groundwater assessment; 3) Sediment core collection; 4) EWM and CLP monitoring and mapping; 5) Stakeholder participation planning meeting; 6) Purchase LDO probe; 7) Develop annual report and final report.
