VILAS COUNTY: Vilas County Dissolved Oxygen Meter

Purpose

Vilas County Land and Water Department is sponsoring a small scale lake planning grant to study DO levels, within Vilas County lakes. The project will focus on purchasing a DO meter for Citizen Lake Monitoring Network (CLMN) sampling, water quality assessments during aquatic invasive species (AIS) management activities and sampling in low DO lakes with winterkill concerns. Project activities include: Purchase YSI ProDO meter and probe; scheduling and coordination of probe use. Project deliverables include: Proof of purchase of YSI ProDO meter and probe and summary report of its use. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of summary report.

Includes a news release and a check out/check in form for the Vilas County Land and Water Conservation department to keep track of the meter. For interested individuals in the Three Lake areas, the meter can be checked out at the Three Lakes Library.
