NORTHWOODS LAND TRUST, INC.: LMI-Forest & Oneida County Private Shorelands Protection Project

Purpose

Northwoods Land Trust, Inc. is sponsoring a project which will focus on protecting natural shoreland frontage of 500+ feet in Oneida and Forest Counties. Project activities include: 1) Forest County shoreland property owner identification using GIS 2) Information packet/direct mail campaign - provided to all lake shoreland owners in Forest County with 500+ feet of natural shoreland frontage 3) Public Awareness Campaign - includes press releases/PSA's/presentations 4) Forest County Conservation Plan 5) Property owner contacts in Forest and Oneida Counties 6) Minimum of 2 conservation easements or other land transactions Project deliverables include: 1) Copies of color maps of each of the towns in Forest County to illustrate the parcels/landowners identified with 500+ feet of existing natural shoreland frontage 2) Copies of newspaper articles, press releases, psa's, and newsletter articles 3) Copy of Conservation Plan for Forest County and needs assessment for priority land acquisitions 4) Generalized listing of landowner follow-up contacts by program type 5) Copies of approved and filed conservation easements, deeds from land donations or other land transactions, and registry program property plans/assessments Specific Conditions: - Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, GIS maps, Forest County Conservation Plan and needs assessment, and copies of all news releases.
