LINCOLN COUNTY: Lincoln Co. Lakes & Rivers Public Awareness Campaign

Purpose

Lincoln County in partnership with the Lincoln Co. Lakes & Rivers Association, is sponsoring an AIS EPP grant to be completed by December 31, 2008. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring. Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and implement a CB/CW program at Lincoln County landings; 2) Conduct AIS citizen lake monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines; 3) Host CB/CW and AIS monitoring workshops; 4) Entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 and monitoring Forms 3200-124 and/or 3200-130 onto Dept website; 5) Create a CB/CW shelter with supplies for county use; 6) Disseminate AIS information at Tomahawk Sport Show booth, Annual Meeting, and riparian owner letter. Project deliverables include: 1) Completed entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 and monitoring Forms 3200-124 onto Dept website; 2) Picture of CB/CW shelter and supplies; 3) Assembled AIS information (booth, educational materials, riparian owner letter); 4) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring, and AIS educational activities. Specific Conditions for this project: Final report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, samples of assembled AIS information.
