LINCOLN COUNTY: Lincoln County Aquatic Inspection & Education Project

Purpose

The Lincoln County Land Information and Conservation Dept is sponsoring an AEPP grant for lakes in Lincoln County. Project partners include UW-Stevens Point (Treehaven), Lumberjack RC&D and local lake associations. The project will focus on AIS education and prevention. Project activities include: 1) Hire UWSP students to perform weekend watercraft inspections; 2) Entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 onto Dept website; 3) Conduct 2 CB/CW/AIS identification workshops; 4) Develop news releases for local media and UWSP. Project deliverables include: 1) Minimum of 720 watercraft inspection hours; 2) Completed entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 onto Dept website; 3) News releases; 4) Hired students; 5) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities and AIS educational activities. Specific Conditions for this project: Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report and news releases.
