Green Lake Sanitary District is sponsoring a lake protection grant on Green Lake, Green Lake County. The main goal of this protection grant is to reduce the nutrient loading to the lake through the various activities listed below. The following work activities will be completed: 1. Implementation / construction of specified BMP\2019s in the Fond du Lac County portion of Green Lake. 2. Implement plan to restore the County K Estuary to a plant dominated system. a. Add bubble barrier as a secondary barrier to carp passage. b. Monitor the effectiveness of barriers to carp passage. c. Conduct repairs to barriers as necessary. d. Purchase, plant and monitor aquatic plants in K Estuary. Planting specifics determined in consultation with and approval from District Lake Coordinator (E.G. timing, densities, species etc.) 3. Education and Informational Activities a. As possible - Press releases, public informational meetings, newsletters, presentations, informational videos, kiosks.
