LAKE PEWAUKEE SANITARY DISTRICT: RM-LPT - Meadowbrook Creek Streambank Stabilization & Habitat Improvements

Purpose

The Lake Pewaukee Sanitary District is sponsoring a project to install streambank stabilization and habitat improvement features along 1000 feet of Meadowbrook Creek, a tributary to Pewaukee Lake. Project deliverables include: a photo essay showing before and after pictures of each element of the project; copies of all bid ready/construction plans and a daily construction log. All deliverables shall be in electronic form. Project activities include: 1) buckthorn removal along the banks of the creek and the adjacent land; 2) installation of streambank stabilization measures to include stacked soil bags with native plant plugs, coir logs, inverted tree root balls, cobble stones and rip rap; 3) construction and armoring of a low flow channel in shallow parts of the creek; 4) installation of rock riffles in various location along the creek; 5) installation of emergent vegetation and rock shoals to improve spawning habitat and 6) development of bid ready and or construction ready plans to install the various aspects of the project. Special Conditions: 1) The report, construction log and the bid ready plans shall be entered into the SWIMS database. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
