Langlade County, in cooperation with project sponsor Lincoln County, is sponsoring a project which will focus on building upon and improving on past shoreland protection efforts within Langlade and Lincoln Counties.
Project activities include: 1) Hire Shoreland Protection Specialist; 2) Provide technical assistance and education to property owners for the development of shoreland restoration plans; 3) Provide financial assistance/incentives for voluntary shoreland restorations; 4) Monitor shoreland restoration sites and recommend supplemental plantings when needed; 5) Develop a GIS layer to track shoreland restoration sites and update web page; 6) Provide educational opportunities and materials to lake associations and the public that promote shoreland restoration and protection efforts.
