Purpose
Langlade County Waterways, Inc is sponsoring a project on lakes in Langlade County focusing on AIS education, prevention, and monitoring.
Project activities include: 1) Hire AIS project coordinator; 2) Perform watercraft inspections and conduct AIS monitoring; 3) Develop and distribute AIS placemats; 4) Conduct AIS education activities targeting garden shops and bait shops; 5) Sponsor a CB/CW and AIS monitoring workshop; 6) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring Forms 3200-124 onto Dept website; 7) Posting of lake and river signage; 8) Attend Waterways and lake association meetings; 9) Disseminate AIS information at boat landings, public areas, and businesses and through press releases.
Project deliverables include: 1) Completed entry of inspection 3200-120 and monitoring forms 3200-124 onto Dept website; 2) Hired coordinator; 3) Completed workshops, meeting attendance and press releases; 4) Updated signage; 5) AIS educational materials; 6) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring, and AIS educational activities.
Specific Conditions: Final report needs Dept review and approval
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of final report, press releases and samples of AIS educational materials.
