DANE COUNTY: ACQ-Michaels Land Acq Dane Co T. Albion

Purpose

Dane County will acquire approximately 15 acres of land located on the NE side of Rice Lake in the Town of Albion, Dane County. The property abuts the 300 acre Silverwood Park. The acquisition will protect the shoreline and fishery ecosystem for wildlife and scenic beauty and prevent the parcel from conversion to other uses. Additionally, this parcel will be integrated with other County-owned parcels already purchased to maximize the positive management, resource and recreational impacts for wildlife and the public. Eligible costs include acquisition of the parcels, appraisal fees and preparation of an environmental assessment.
