Purpose
Dane County proposes to develop a prevention and control plan for aquatic invasive species (AIS) and identify actions and budget to implement. The focus is primarily the Yahara Chain of Lakes, and secondarily, the Rock, Yahara and Sugar Rivers. At least 3 public meetings will be held to develop the plan and share project results, and the final plan will be posted on danewaters.com, as well as submitted on paper and electronically to DNR. The following deliverables will also be addressed: A1. The project will conduct an education workshop on AIS and prevention methods. The workshop will disseminate information about aquatic invasive species consistent with the Department's statewide education strategy for controlling invasive species. A4. Project will produce a detailed plan that meets the specifications of NR198.43(1).Related Reports
