Open water safety fencing will be installed using the same type fencing system used on Pickerel Lake and will be placed by PCLA members once safe ice for foot travel is present.

Town Of Lakewood: Lco-Town Of Lakewood Class/Ordinance Project: The Town of Lakewood proposes to conduct a county-wide lake classification and ordinance study. The project will be used as a component in the larger land use planning process to create a set of recommended ordinances, or recommended amendments to existing ordinances for better protection of county lake resources.

Oconto County: Lco - Oconto County Lake Study And Planning, Phase 2, Grant 11: The Oconto County Land Conservation Department is sponsoring a multi-phased project to develop a County Wide Lake Study and Planning Project for all lakes in Oconto County with public access.

The project final deliverables of Oconto County Lake Study and Planning, Phase 2, Grant 11 is to create lake management plans for Green, Shay, Star, Ucil, Underwood, and Wescott Lakes. The plans will include the review elements listed in NR 191.45 with brief interpretations written for a citizen audience with sections on water quality, the aquatic plant community, AIS, shorelands, fisheries, lake settings, and watersheds with associated land uses. Overall, this project also proposes to assess the capacity of groups and lake front property owners through Meet Your Scientist/Capacity Building Meetings. The DNR Biologists will conduct Aquatic Plant Point Intercept Surveys, Woody Habitat Surveys, Shoreline Surveys, Aquatic Invasive Species Surveys, Water Quality Sampling, and will update lake bathymetry.

Specific project activities include: 1)Water quality using WisCALM comparisons 2) Include key elements listed in R 191.45

Special Conditions: 1) CLMN efforts should not be duplicated and these data shall be included in the trends analysis and final reporting; 2) All CLMN shall be entered into the SWIMS database.

Chute Lake P & R District: Hlk - Chute Pond Healthy Lakes 2017: Partnering with property owners, Chute Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District #1 is sponsoring a grant to implement water quality and habitat best practices from Wisconsin\2019s Healthy Lakes Implementation Plan. Best practices, including fish sticks, 350 sq. ft. native plantings, diversions, rock infiltration, and/or rain gardens, will be designed and installed according to the Healthy Lakes fact sheets, technical guidance and grant application.

All funded best practices require contracts that must remain in place for 10 years and include the minimum operation and maintenance requirements described in grant condition #16 at the end of this agreement. If the landowner is the grant sponsor this Lake Protection Grant Agreement serves as the contract. If the best practice(s) will be implemented on land other than the sponsor\2019s, a Conservation Contract between the sponsor and landowner describing the 10-year contract period, minimum operation and maintenance details, and data to be collected is required.

The Department may perform site inspections and/or monitoring to ensure project success.

Deliverables include: Signed 10-year landowner Conservation Contract(s) with operation and maintenance requirements; data collected; pre and post project installation photographs; and summary of education activities and publicity/promotion of Healthy Lakes initiative, if applicable.

Special conditions: Project management and technical assistance costs cannot exceed 10% of the state share of the grant award; this does not include implementation labor. Water regulation and/or county zoning permits must be issued before construction, and all regulatory requirements apply. The Healthy Lakes logo should be used for promotion and publicity and DNR recognized as a funding source.

The project elements and deliverables are specified in Marinette County\2019s Grant application dated December 5, 2017.

The project consists of: Conducting continuous flow monitoring on the Bass Lake inlet for use in watershed nutrient load estimates and lake nutrient budgeting, monitoring phosphorus concentrations in the Bass Lake inlet, calculating external phosphorus loading to Bass Lake, conducting a nutrient budget for Bass lake, conducting lake response modeling, and collecting sediment cores from Bass Lake to be analyzed for physical properties, aluminum, concentration, bound and soluble phosphorus, and measure soluble reactive phosphorus release rates.

White Potato Lake Sportsman Club: White Potato Lake Management Plan: The White Potato Lake Sportsman's Club purposes to develop lake management goals and objectives for White Potato Lake. It also will develop a baseline understanding of existing water quality, lake morphology, bottom sediment characteristics, fishery, aquatic vegetation and watershed management issues. It will map bottom sediment accumulations and determine their source, and identify and prioritize alternative lake management strategies.

White Potato Lake Sportsman Club: White Potato Lake Management Plan Ph 1: The White Potato Lake Sportsmen's Clube proposes to conduct Phase 1 of a lake planning grant which will include several actions leading up to completion of a lake management plan including, citizen participation process, Watershed Assessment, Water Quality assessment, fisheries data analysis and integration , Zebra mussel monitoring, and shoreline assessment. The deliverable will be the \201CLake Management Plan \201Ccomponents listed above. If a consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the Department Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. The Department shall receive both paper and electronic PDF copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of the grantee's final payment request.

White Potato Lake Sportsman Club: White Potato Lake Planning Project Ph 2: The White Potato Lake Sportsmen's Club proposes to conduct Phase 2 of a lake planning grant which will include several actions leading up to completion of a lake management plan including CLP survey, PI survey, Planning Committee mtgs, data analysis, report preparation and final citizen participation process. The deliverable will be the completed \201CLake Management Plan \201Cincluding all project components from phase 1 and 2. If a consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the Department Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. The Department shall receive both paper and electronic PDF copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of the grantee's final payment request.

Marinette County: Fendryk Manure Runoff Project: to costshare at 70% Fendryk BMPs

Trout Unlimited Inc: Mcdonald Creek At Parkway Road Aquatic Habitat Reconnection Project: Trout Unlimited is sponsoring a project that will implement a Coldwater habitat connectivity project on McDonald Creek in Oconto county. The project will replace an undersized and perched culvert with a new crossing structure that will benefit native Brook Trout and other aquatic organism passage.

Specific project activities include: 1) Complete final design plans for crossing at Parkway Road 2) Remove old perched and undersized crossing 3) install new crossing using stream simulation design methods

Project final deliverables include: Final design plans, pre/post photographs of crossing, and a final summary report will be provided comparing pre-post construction fish passage scores, velocity, flows, and bed compositions.


Specific conditions: 1) Culvert removal and new crossing installation shall follow all erosion control BMP\2019s and time of year restrictions to protect the resource. 2) All waterway permits must be issued before construction and all regulatory requirements apply. 3) The DNR logo shall be used for promotion and publicity and DNR recognized as a funding source.
